Bob is a Chartered Accountant and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Prior to becoming a Director of Seaview Consulting he was national manager of the Adviser Business Centre, a specialist consulting division of MLC. Bob managed a team providing advice on issues impacting the aligned wealth management advice businesses, such as strategic planning, succession planning, transaction management and financial management. Prior to joining MLC, Bob was a partner in mid tier Melbourne accounting practice HLB Mann Judd for almost 20 years. He oversaw the growth of that practice from 5 employees to 180 when he left in 2006. A member of the management committee throughout his tenure as a partner, Bob was also Managing Director of the Licensee entity of the practice which managed in excess of $500 million of client funds. He was also a Director of the Corporate Finance division, specialising in advice to the financial services sector on matters including valuation, succession planning and strategy. During this time Bob was a member of the external valuation panels of most of the major banks. Bob was the pioneer of the move by financial planning principals to see their role as business managers and Investors as well as advisers. Bob is a sought after speaker at conferences addressing practice management, valuation and transaction management issues.
